Teach while having fun
Educational centers are increasingly popular destinations for family trips, popularizing the achievements of various fields of science in a modern and attractive way. In the Tricity, the largest facility of this type is the Experiment Science Center, located in Gdynia-Redlowo. An impressive exhibition with a large number of interactive stations allows children (but also parents!) to acquire knowledge by freely experimenting with the laws of physics, chemistry and biology. You can have additional fun by participating in workshops devoted to specific issues, e.g. examining the peculiarities of the seabed.
Young explorers will also enjoy the Hevelianum in Gdansk, a science center named in tribute to Johannes Hevelius, a famous 17th-century astronomer. Here we can travel in time and around the world, solve scientific puzzles and take a walk around the buildings of a former military fort. The facility, full of educational attractions, can be found near Góra Gradowa, which is an excellent vantage point for the panorama of downtown Gdansk.
When relaxing with children in a hotel by the sea, it is worth checking out the repertoire of the "Miniatura" Municipal Theater in Gdansk. Interesting and valuable performances are performed here, addressed to children of different ages, based on classic and contemporary children's and youth literature. The facility has a tradition dating back to the 1940s, which makes it one of the oldest theaters of this type in Poland.
Another Tricity "classic" among places combining science and entertainment is the famous Aquarium. It has been operating for over 60 years on the southern pier in Gdynia, near Kosciuszko Square. In seven thematic rooms we will find a huge dose of knowledge about life in various aquatic environments. Hundreds of colorful fish, coral reefs and other sea creatures await us, as well as many interesting facts about the coast of the Baltic Sea.
Parrot, tell me something in my ear
Since we have already touched on the animal topic, it is worth mentioning the Gdansk ZOO, located in an extremely picturesque area of the Tricity Landscape Park. On 123 hectares you will find nearly 900 animals representing 220 species, including elephants, lions, giraffes, hippos and meerkats loved by children. You should reserve most of the day to visit this attraction by the sea, because the area is as charming as it is vast and full of hidden zoological curiosities that will delight every child.
Those interested in close encounters with nature should also leave the hotel and visit Papugarnia, located at ul. Navy, near the Polsat Plus Arena stadium in Gdańsk. We will be able to interact with animals here - feed a parrot or a toucan, pet a nice alpaca or even share our arm with a curious lemur for a moment. When it comes to places created exclusively for children's fun, Tricity will soon gain quite a gem. The grand opening of Majaland, a new amusement park in Osowa, Gdańsk, near the Tri-City Bypass, is planned for the holidays. It will be a year-round place, filled with various ideas for fun: rollercoasters, play zones, carousels and an aqua park with large slides. It will appeal to both young and old lovers of swimming pool fun. There is no doubt that the fairy bee park will be one of the greatest family attractions of the entire Pomeranian region.
Today, Fun Arena, located at the Polsat Plus Arena stadium in Gdansk and in its immediate vicinity, offers many options for family fun by the sea. Guests can enjoy a children's play zone, escape rooms, a trampoline park, electronic paintball and a skate park. It is also worth visiting the stadium itself, considered one of the most beautiful in Europe. FC Barcelona and Juventus Turin have already played here, as well as national teams, including: Spain and Italy during Euro 2012.
When choosing a hotel by the sea for children with a swimming pool and animations, it is worth paying attention to the location and proximity of attractions. Kids can find a lot of fun in Gdansk's Main Town, and more specifically on the Motława River.
